Landings Festival Friday, Oct 21

The Annual Festival is held at the Landings, a gated community with about 9,000 people living in the area. The Assocaition brings in a band, vendors with food and wine, liquor and soft drinks. Holly and I both had Crab Cakes from Barbara Jeans Resturant and they were best we have had. Pictures are Holly, me, Linda and Kyle. Then me and Holly. Then some of Holly's golf friends. It was a very pleasant evening.

Silver Comet Trail ride

Five of us friends (Pictured l to r: Harry Hutson, Ben Barfield, Dan Brown, Ed Jewell and me) spent three days bicycling the SILVER COMET TRAIL that strectches from near Atlanta to the Alabama State line. This trail is an outstanding recreational trail built mostly from an old railway bed that carried a passenger train, I believe, called the "Silver Comet". Also pictured here is the Brushy Mountain tunnel and the Pumpkinville Creek railway trestle where the bicycle/pedestrain trail passes.

Silver Comet Trail Ride

Five of us friends will leave Friday from Rincon and Vidalia, GA to ride the Silver Comet Trail in Northeast Georgia. Staying at the Days Inn in Rockmart, GA, we will ride three segments of the trail that stretches from near Atlanta to the Alabama State line. Harry "Ju Ju" Hutson, Dan Brown, Ben Barfield, Ed Jewell and myself will get about 100 plus miles on our bicycles in the three days. Not much by tour standards but a great deal of scenery, a old railway trestle and an old tunnel with lot's of color as the trees begin to change into their Fall colors. Eat your heart out fellow bicycle friends!

Today with Holly

Taken today at the end of the most delightful weekend I have ever experienced with someone that is beginning to take a big place in my heart! This picture taken in front of Holly's home at the Landings, after we did a 10 mile bike ride through a porion of the Landings, Savannah's Premier village. Saturday night, we had dinner with Linda and Kyle Felt at their home and expreienced a wonderful dinner, cocktails on the deck watching Blue Birds cavort in their backyard, overlooking a portion of the marsh near Live Oak Golf Course at the Landings. Friday night Holly cooked very good steaks and Thursday night we enjoyed my creation of Ocean Springs Shrimp. Good dinners, very good company, good weather and friendships! What more could I ask???!!!? It was the GREATEST!

BRAG's Georgia Bikefest, Sept. 29 to Oct 1, 2006

The BRAG Georgia Bikefest enjoyed very good weather (cool nights, warm days) this year for the about 600 bicyclist who attended this popular event. The City of Newnan, GA provided entertainment Friday and Saturday night to top off three great days of riding from 10 miles each day to up to 100 mile routes.
I was able to erect my canopy and advertise my events and tours by handing out 200 flyers for Early Bird Registration for the 2007 Historic Savannah Bikefest and about 30 flyers for my Florida and Coastal Georgia Tours in 2007.
Pictured here is my canopy and table where I greeted cyclist and advertised my events and tours, some of the riders pedaling along the way to Graniteville, GA towards the first rest stop on Saturday and my tent erected along the sidewalk at Newnan High School where we camped for the weekend.
