My FIRST Bowl Game

I depart for Mt Dora, Florida this Thursday, Dec 29th for two days, then on Saturday, Dec 31st, to my friends house in Longwood (bedroom community of Orlando) where he and I will attend the Auburn vs Wisconsin Capital One Bowl Game on Monday, January 2, 2006. My first bowl game (other than several "Iron Bowl" games), it will be great if it doesn't rain, Auburn wins and I see some action on my end of the field from the 20 yard line where my tickets have placed me! While Auburn finished the season as probably the strongest team in the SEC, they could have lost that edge after weeks of in-action and lost momentum. Wisconsin team will be playing the last game under their coach and that could emotionally charge them to a very close game, if not a win.
In Mt. Dora, I will finish details for the FLORIDA TRAILS TOUR and More! scheduled for January 12-21st, as well as, Feb 12-18 and Mar 12-18. Will sample a couple restaurants to make sure my tour guest will enjoy good food, too!

Winter bicycle riding in (almost) comfort

Thanks to my children, I got some cash for Christmas and bought myself a Louis Garneau Wind Slice Jacket. Designed to breath, wick moisture away, as well as, stop the wind, it is the best thing I have worn on days when the temperature is below 50 degrees! The picture of the jacket is the same as mine, but yellow where the red is in this picture.

Florida Mini Trails Tour 12/3-4/2006

Left to right: Harry Hutson, Hardeeville, SC; Ed Jewell, Rincon, GA; Dave Sanderson, Rincon, GA; Lamar Martin, Vidalia, GA; Bob Smith, Savannah, GA; Will Fell, Statesboro, GA. These people joined me on a two day bicycle tour where we rode the Baldwin-Jacksonville (Florida) Trail on Saturday 30 plus or minus miles and then after overnighting at The Days Inn in Starke, FL, rode the Hawthorne-Gainesville Trail on Sunday of 32 plus on minus miles. Weather was perfect, temperture in 60's Saturday, 70's Sunday, little or no wind. This was an easy two day trip from Savannah. Excellent food, a good nights sleep, some interesting historic places visited and bicycling at it's best!
