Florida Safari 2007

This was my 6th year, I think to attend this great event, The Florida Safari bicycle ride. Three days in Live Oak, FL and then we cycle to Cherry Lake (North of Madison FL) for this six day event. People from as far as Seattle and Canada come to enjoy this great ride every year. Pictured first is the mass start on Saturday, April 21st. Next are Black Eyed Susan's along the route we cycled one day. Then, the crowd on Sunday evening sitting under the shade of a large Live Oak tree, drinking draft beer, listening to a great band, eating boiled corn on the cob dipped in butter (The corn was in the cooler in the foreground after being boiled, husk on and in a large cast iron vat). After eating a lot of corn, we still had a wonderful dinner.
If you ever want to do a great bicycle ride, check out the Florida Freewheelers web site and navigate to Florida Safari. Enrollment is limited due to it's popularity and space available at Cherry Lake.
